Merry Christmas Oprah

Oprah and her staff are taking a holiday break this 2009 and have stopped filming the Oprah Winfrey Show this December.

But this week Oprah has been playing re-runs of some of her 2009 best shows including her interview with Sarah Palin and the holiday music extravaganza show.

Today of course is Christmas Eve and I thought it would be a perfect time to post an Oprah tribute video, made by an Oprah fan, which highlights Oprah's charity work in Africa.

As much as Oprah Winfrey strives to entertain us all her number one priority these days is to educate us.

She has done a fabulous job of enlightening her viewers on how other people around the world live, and the struggles that they face.

Oprah's Holiday Music Extravaganza

Oprah Winfrey decided not to do an "Oprah's Favorite Things" show this 2009 but she did decide to invite some amazing singers for her "Holiday Music Extravaganza" show.

Alicia Keys, Sugarland, Jennifer Hudson, Tim McGraw, Andrea Bocelli, and Mary Blige all performed for Oprah's Holiday Music Extravaganza show.

Taylor Swift Oprah Interview - Behind The Scenes Video Clip

Country superstar "Taylor Swift" appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in October of 2009.

The most interesting thing I learned during this interview is that Taylor Swift started out writing poetry and then began writing her own song lyrics, which is completely amazing.

Oprah's Stories Of Survival - Florida Massacre - Stephanie and Christian Nielson, and More

Today's Oprah Winfrey Show featured stories of survival after tragedy. Melanie and Bud Billings were raising 16 children when they were brutally murdered in their own home.

Now their adult daughter Ashley and her husband are living in the Billing's home where they are raising Melanie and Bud's nine adopted children. Each of the children have severe disabilities and Ashley spends her days caring for her siblings.

Christian and Stephanie Nielson are the parents of four children. After undergoing a plane crash that killed the pilot, both Christian and Stephanie received serious burns but although they face extreme daily challenges the couple are just happy to be alive.

An Oprah viewer named Andrea from California who feels her life is tough spent the day with Stephanie as she goes about her daily chores and quickly realized that she needs to appreciate all that she has going for her.

Stephanie Nielson has become an inspiration to many women and has her own blog called Nienie Dialogues. You can actually write to Stephanie, her mailing address is posted on her blog.

Today's Oprah Show also featured the amazing story of a fateful airplane flight. When two strangers met on a small commuter airplane, passenger Rick soon found out that the girl beside him was in foster care and heading to a shelter.
