Today's December 1, 2009 Oprah show was an extremely sad eye opener to the tragedies that women are facing around the world. 

Starvation, Rape, and Needless Suffering

Oprah showed her viewers the reality of women dying painful deaths that last days while in childbirth, women in agony as they starved to death, and rape victims, and sex slaves ignored.

Oprah caught my attention when she said "this is what's going on while we're shopping." Many stars, including George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Demi Moore, and Angelina Jolie are working towards ending women's suffering. A short piece on George Clooney's involvement was shown on today's show.

How You Can Help

But you don't have to be a celebrity to join the the crusade. You can help a girl or woman who desperately needs help to survive by visiting the "For All Women Registry" at Oprah.com.

As Oprah said repeatedly in today's show, people do care, and do want to help, but don't realize the terrifying reality of what's going on in other parts of the world.
