Ellen DeGeneres was determined to make it on to the cover of O Magazine, and all of her efforts paid off.

Ellen is only the second person to appear on the cover of O Magazine alongside Oprah.The first person to share Oprah's magazine cover was First Lady "Michelle Obama."

I've read a few of "Oprah's Book Club" book selections but I feel that her latest 2009 book club choice "Say You're One Of Them" by author "Uwem Akpan" is a particularly great choice because it's the first Oprah Book Club selection to feature "short stories." 

The stories in "Say You're One Of Them" are interesting and eye opening. The book would be a great Christmas gift idea for someone who enjoys reading, and ebooks are a great solution for long distance gift giving.

Oprah Launching "OWN" Television Network in 2011 - The Oprah Winfrey Network

Oprah Winfrey will be launching her very own television network "OWN" which stands for "The Oprah Winfrey Network" in January of 2011.Oprah recently announced that the Oprah Winfrey Show would be ending in September 2011.

Oprah has revealed that 15 years ago she wrote in her journal that she would one day create a television network and that the Oprah Show was just the beginning.

The OWN Network will be a 24/7 cable network replacing the "Discovery Health Channel," and will be dedicated to "self-discovery, to connecting you to your best self and to the world."

OWN will be an extension of the Oprah Show featuring inspirational stories, house and home, and health, and Oprah herself will spend time on air as she explores her passions.

I don't know whether "The Oprah Winfrey Network" will be broadcast in other countries other than the U.S., since the Oprah Winfrey Show is available in over 100 countries, I'm hoping that the new "OWN" network will be available as well.

"Precious" star "Gabourey Sidibe" On The Oprah Winfrey Show

Oprah is a huge fan of the movie "Precious" which is based on the novel "Push" by Saphire. On Oprah's November 20, 2009 show 26-year-old "Gabby Sidibe" joined Oprah to talk about her breakout role in the movie.

"Precious" did a fantastic job portraying a trouble teened living in an abusive environment. Gabby's "real life" is much different, she is a college student with a loving family. Her creative mother makes her living as a singing street performer.

"Gabby Sidibe" decided to go and audition for the movie "Precious" on a whim, and was casted for the role right away. This is the first time Gabbie has ever acted, but after the great success of the movie "Precious," it probably won't be the last.
