Oprah Winfrey, like so many other celebrities is criticized constantly in the news, but she has done more to help people, especially children then nearly every other celebrity in the world.

Here is Oprah's television special about the creation and opening of "The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy." Oprah's African school is providing the opportunity for young women living in poverty the chance to turn their lives around and make their community a better place.

Oprah Winfrey has been listed as one of the richest women in America over 40. But I'm pretty sure that Oprah is "the richest" woman in America of any age. Oprah Winfrey is worth 2.7 Billion dollars and gives 50 million to charity each year.

"More" magazine lists Oprah Winfrey with entertainer "Madonna" and actress "Jennifer Aniston." But even Madonna's vast fortune can't compete with Oprah's astounding real estate empire. Check out this CNN News video for more information on Oprah's billionaire status:
