Actor Michael J. Fox was a guest on today's, March 31, 2009 Oprah Winfrey Show. 47 year-old Fox was born in Alberta Canada and landed his first acting role in 1979 at the age of 15. He left Canada and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to pursue his dream of an acting career. He rose to stardom in 1982 after being cast in the role of Alex Keaton on the TV series "Family Ties."
He married actress Tracey Pollan who played his "Family Ties" girlfriend in 1988, the couple has now been married for 20 years and have 4 children together.
Micheal J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991 and went public with the illness in 1998 after his symptoms began interfering with his acting work on the show "Spin City."
Micheal J. Fox will be appearing in the documentary "Adventures of an Incurable Optimist" on May 7, 2009 10/9pm Central on ABC. He is truly an incredible person with an amazing outlook on life.
