Suzanne Somers will be on Oprah this Thursday, January 29, 2009 to share her point of view on Bioidentical Hormones. The hormone debate continues, are bioidentical hormones right for you? What are the risks? I'll be updating the website to include information on both sides of the debate over the next couple of weeks.
The hormone webcast with Dr. Christiane Northrup is tommorow night at 9 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. CT. You can register for the webcast here on Oprah.com.
If you watched the Oprah Winfrey Show on January 15, 2009 and have a question on Bioidentical Hormones and menopause then you can ask Dr. Northrup a question by filling out a "share your story" form online at Oprah.com. You must be willing to share your story with Oprah's television audience because selected questions appear on an upcoming Oprah Show.
Here is a clip from The Oprah Winfrey Show - January 15, 2009 with Dr. Oz regarding the use of bioidentical hormones to help menopause symptoms:
......

I have a question about "Post Menopausal" women.
I am 64 years old and in the past 3 years I have
been dealing with unexplained weight gain (40 lbs
which I have attributed to medications that I am
taking for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Doctors do not agree. Could it be
hormonal? My PCP says my thyroid is OK. Would I
benefit from having any specific tests done and
which ones? I never took any replacements when I
started going through menopause at age 50, I decided I would "ride the storm" since I had been
on birth control pills for many years.
Cordially,
W. Miller, NYC

I will be 64 next week and am wondering if I would benefit from bioidenticals if I have had a hysterectomy. I still have hot flashes (though not as frequent as I used to), vaginal dryness which makes sexual activity extremely uncomfortable and I have absolutely no interest in sex which is a huge problem with my partner of 19 years. He is ready to move on becaause of this. Can this help me?
